For those OB's who are ardent cricket lovers or for those who just like to while away a pleasing day, the OBCC Box at the top of the splendid Ondaatje Cricketing School of Excellence at Somerset County Cricket Club's headquarters in Taunton, affords a marvellous day out from the tedium of the office or an excuse to leave the grass to grow for another day.

Only two miles from junction 25 on the M5 into the centre of Taunton, we are very privileged to have a wonderful Box facility with the best view overlooking the delightful County ground. All-day parking is available opposite the entrance to the Tone river end of the ground.

Old Blundellian Christopher Ondaatje, who is Patron of Somerset CCC, is a cricket fanatic and the Box is stuffed full of memorabilia, pictures from the Long Room at Lords and cricket bats from all over the world; also many of the legendary Frank Woolley's cricketing possessions.

Not only are there cricketing photos and memorabilia in general, but there are all the Wisdens and Blundellian Magazines that will enable you to browse through and fantasise on your feats at Blundell's or remember matches that you may have been at over the years! We have a cricket book library . Many of the books have been kindly donated by OB's, visitors and cricketing authors and have been listed by our Librarian, John Hollands.

The busy County town of Taunton is only 5 minutes walk and wives or girlfriends will always be able to find places to use your credit cards. Or if they prefer the cricket, and you wish to play golf, there are 3 excellent golf courses within 10 minutes drive. Children are also very welcome provided Dad gives them plenty of money to spend in the club shop!

A very good lunch is available and you will be well looked after by OB's. Lunch and tea costs £15. If you are not a member of Somerset CCC you will have to pay the ground entrance money which is £8 - £10 depending on who Somerset are playing. Senior citizens and children will pay a reduced rate. You are welcome to bring a guest along, provided we know the numbers and can accommodate everyone. There is a small charge for guests, who if they are not members of Somerset CCC, must also pay the ground entrance money at the gate.

The Box always has a host of former First Class cricketers, Umpires, OB's and others going through the ever welcoming doors.
